Why I switched to Brave instead of Chrome
With up to 3x faster page load times than Google Chrome, ~33% less memory usage, and up to one hour more battery life, Brave is the browser that’s built to perform.
Brave automatically blocks ads that track you, allowing your content to load quicker. Brave is actually powered by the same engine as Google Chrome, so all of your favourite Chrome extensions are still readily available for use.
A massive highlight for me is battery life; whilst I have a new phone (S21 Ultra), I use my phone A LOT (don’t tell the boss). Â
Now, you’re thinking faster loading times & blocked ad tracker; what’s the catch? Well, actually, it gets better than that; YOU CAN EARN MONEY USING BRAVE!
From Brave:
“Brave turns this broken model on its head. Brave Ads is an opt-in advertising platform that rewards you to view non-invasive ads without compromising your privacy. In exchange for paying attention, you earn 70% of the ad revenue that Brave receives. That revenue comes in the form of Basic Attention Tokens (BAT), which are tokens that can be spent online. At the end of each month, you can either withdraw your BAT in the form of cash or pay it forward by tipping your favourite websites and content creators.”
At the time of writing this, I have earned 0.47 dollars which I will leave to build up, and when I have a few dollars, I will convert them into some form of cryptocurrency.Â
I have avoided 1.9k ads and trackers THIS WEEK.
I think a world where everyone knows everything, a little privacy is nice.
