How to get the best value for your Facebook Ads
First things first, groups can not run ads, I don’t foresee this changing but is not out of the realms of possibility.
For now the safest way is to be a page and have a product you are trying to promote, there is no point creating a page to get people to join your group, it can be done and has mild success but with a group natural growth is a lot better.
I think it should go without saying but there are things you can and cannot advertise on Facebook, liquier, drugs, tobacco and vape products to name a few.
In this blog I will suggest some things on what you could promote, how and why, I will also give you a glimpse on what we do with Facebook ads.
Why advertise?
When you advertise you should be reaching people that is out of your normal reach, for example, I’m selling a new perfume but my page only has 10 likes, out of those 10 only 1 will order so I need to reach more people, this is were ads come in. Facebook has some very clever algorithms that can target people that are likely to like and purchase from you.
Who to target?
Once you get into the Facebook ad centre you can target specific ages, genders, and areas, on top of that you can search by behaviours, interests and demographics.
Example: I am selling a new men’s fragrance but who to target? You can look it from various angles, men because they will wear it, women because they will buy if for their partners.
Then what age is your product aimed at?
Do you want health and beauty professionals to see this?
Do you want to compete with other pages for sales?
All of these can be tweaked to help you get the edge over your competition.
How much does it cost?
This is totally down to you, if you have lots of disposable cash and believe in your product, you can spend as much as you want but we would advise a reasonable amount with the goal of reducing it over time until you needed it again.
Is it worth it?
Ads can be very beneficial if you understand what you are doing with Facebook ads, they have several different types of ads all with various sub settings and can be very confusing.
If you are able to get your head around it yes it is worth it, if you don’t then no, you’re going to be wasting your money.
Once you are au fait with it you can get some really good value for money and a good return on your investment.
What returns can I expect?
Your returns will have a few variables such as:
- How much you have invested into the ads.
- How well you have targeted your audience.
- Your chosen imagery.
There are other variables that we would tweak, for example, you have 3 positions open up, to find you the best people for the job we would look at demographics, interests, behaviours, age, location and several more, as we want to find you the best candidate for the job.
We could set up the parameters to find you a large amount of applicants or we can hone in on the people that will be interested and invested in the job role and with Facebook’s algorithms you will get quality over quantity.
What to advertise?
Things you want to advertise may include:
- A new job role – Lots of people have Facebook but also a lot of professionals do not, consider this before advertising.
- A new product – Handmade jewellery / perfume / crafts
- Do you review products and have a page & YouTube Channel? Link them and advertise.
This is only scratching the surface of what you can do with Facebook ads, here at Victory.Digital we can cover all aspects of you Facebook Ad campaign, as you can see from this brief blog it is minefield.
